Recently I went in BCIS office in Tampa,and they told me that it takes up to 30 month for the I485 approval. Does anybody know If they perform a CIA/FBI security check before the interview so after the interview you do not need to wait to have your passport stamped???

Chicago is the same...went for my interview, but the officer did not stamp my passport due to the pending security check. My AOS interview was on May 1, 2003. Still waiting for my approval letter.

BLACKHAWK,
I am up for I-485 interview (aos family based) on Oct 30th and was wondering, how can I check out wether my security check was done or not ? Who does that ? Is there any way to ascertian this ? before going for interview. I had second FP on Sep 2nd 2003.
