Had my AOS interview today. I am married to a US Citizen. My intw officer was Jill Shriner . The intw was very simple. Nothing out of the ordinary asked , just like all the usual intw questions posted on this site by other fellow applicants. We took our daughter too with us. After the intw, i asked if i was approved and she said , "Not yet but i don't see any reason why it shouldn't be and you will get a letter telling you the decision in mail within 90 days!". I asked is my name check pending and she was "well, i dunno, it was when we sent your intw notice letter out but it must have cleared by now"
Does anyone have such an experience? We do not know whether to rejoice or not. I am sick of the waiting game, wich life was just black and white , no shades of grey in between....someone please tell me if u had such an exp n what happened after that?thank u.

Sit down and chill.... No need to panic... If that's what she said, then relax and wait for the letter or check your online account to see when they make their decision...

Hi Friends,
I don't know whether this is the right place to post this query as its my first time.
I would like to know how long it takes to ultimately get the GC. It was applied for iand last year we got a letter requiring initial documents etc. We have since submitted the AOS I-864 and Form DS-230 Part 1 and also received a letter to tell us that we will be called for an interview. This was around 3 months back.
- When can we expect the interview call?
- Also, what are the formailities that are required after that ( medical etc).
-How much time does the whole process take ? How much time is given by them to allow you to ultimately move to the US?
- Does a GC holder have to pay Income Tax to the US even if they are paying tax in their home country or do they simply file in the taxes?
Thanks in advance to your replies

you should make a separate topic with your questions. Don't hijack somebody's topic with questions that are not relevant to him.
1) you can expect the interview when your priority date becomes current.
check visa bulletin at www.travel.state.gov
2) read www.travel.state.gov about immigrant visas.
3) yes, a GC holder MUST file taxes in the US. Whether he owes any or not depends on many factors. Why would he be paying taxes in their former home country if he lives in the US?
