Can i start working on EAD Card immediately after getting it

Hi All,

I am on H1B visa. I have filed for EAD & 485 as a secondary applicant. Can i start working on EAD immediately after getting it? Is there a formal process to follow to start working on EAD instead of H1? Pls. remember that i have filed for EAD along with I-485 application on which i am a secondary element.

Once you have an approved EAD you can work using the EAD instead of H1B
