My wife's aos status just changed today. The card has been ordered.
Actually, we have never received interview letter or approval letter.
My wife came here on K1 visa and we send the I485 in july 07 to chicago. Then from Chicago, it was transferred to Missouri. Then from Missouri, they transferred it to california. They pending the case in california, then they send rfe for medical exam. Actually, the medical exam was done in home country and it was submitted when she arrived in US in july 07. We responded to the rfe. They resumed the process last week. This week, they order the card. We only applied for I485, nothing else. Could it be a mistake?
How many years would this green card valid for? Anyone had this experience before? Thank you.

Yep, sometimes the simpler cases are approved without an interview. Length of validity depends on duration of marriage. If you've been married less than two years, you will received a conditional GC valid for two years. Otherwise, it's valid for 10 years.

If it's a conditional GC, you'll have to file an I751 to lift the conditional status before the expiry date. (I think it's three months before the expiry. I hope some of the more experienced members will correct me if I am wrong.)

You are correct. You can apply to remove the condition 90 days before the card expires.

I was so disappointed when they transferred the case from missouri office to california office, and they were pending it for a month. They also sent RFE to us. Other July filers have received interview letter and some of them are already approved. Yesterday, I was surprised that they have ordered the card, that means they waived the interview. I know they waived AOS interview for senior people. I can't believe they gave it to us. Anyway, I accept it. Thanks.
