My parents applied together in the home country, my mother got approved and my father is pending name check.

Is there a way to find out the current status for him? I called the 800# here and when they here the CASE# they say they cannot help as it is filed outside US. When you send letter to embassy they say wait no news or information.
It has already been over 10 months since the interview.

Also the new approal procedure for namecheck does it apply to everyone or just the cases filed in US?

Was your mom issued an Immigrant Visa? if so, and if she didn't use it within 6 months to enter the USA, then that visa is probably no longer valid.

IMY new proceedure doesn't apply to consular processing an immigrant visa. My uncle and aunty were in exactly the same situation. Their son applied for them, aunty got the visa and entered US with in 6 months and uncle who is just 70 years old, after waiting for two years finally got his clearance last month and now he is coming to US. They are returning residents and had green card back in 1984.
If you contact the embassy they will give you a typical answer that they give to every one, but I think waiting is the only option.

Yes my mom has come to US a couple of times now and also has the green card in her hand. It is just my father is very frusturated being not be able to come here. We have asked the embassy and they are no help. You call the 800 number here and they say talk to the embassy as they have no info.

You need to contact the relevant US consulate.
