Dear forum members,
I came to the US a while ago and over stayed my visa and currently staying illegally in the US. Recently I met a guy who is a US citizen. Things went well between us and we decided to get married after he asked me to marry him and I said Yes..
We got happily married recently and I got my marriage certificate issued. However, at my surprise the guy disappeared for no reason and have been trying to get in touch with him for more than 2 months now. At this time I haven’t filed yet to immigration to adjust my status, and I am now decided to file for an annulment of the marriage certificate since it is a recent case.
The only thing I am afraid of is by me doing this in the court, they may find out that I am here illegally. Is there any real risks here?
Do I have to provide any justification that I am legally in the US to get an annulment. Please advise on my case as I am not sure what to do.
I appreciate your help in advance.
Kind regards,
