Hi,

I am on adjustment of status (485) and have full-time employment through my EAD. In the employment verification letter for visitor visa, should my position be stated as temporary or permanent ?

( I thought since the EAD can be renewed continously till the 485 is approved, the position could be considered permanent)

Thanks

The position and EAD are two diferent things. YOu can have a permanent position with temporary work authorization (EAD or H1 for example). Or you can have a green card and work on a temp job i.e. a contractor. State whetever your position is. If you are not hired for a specific period then it is a permanent position.

Thanks for your comment.

What you're saying seems to make sense. However, I am not sure it's always true.
For example: a job on H1B is considered a temporary position for 6 years.

I think I'll leave 'permanent' or 'temporary' out of the employment letter and just put 'full-time'.
