What is the current scenario?
Are custom officers giving 6 months on I94 these days or less?
Thanks

My mom got visa for 3 months only. Is there a way to extend her stay or is there a way to get 6 months at the port of entry?

Visa stamp is only for applying to enter US. Entry into US has to be made on any date BEFORE expiration of visa. Duration of stay is decided by the immigration officer at the port of entry. Usually 6 months stay is granted unless there is a previous history of extension of stay or any other reasons to limit stay.
If you want to extend stay aftre entering US, you need to file I-539 one month before expiration of I-94. There are fees involved and a good reason to extend is also required.
